PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo is delivering her annual State of the State speech to lawmakers.
The Democratic governor is scheduled to address a joint session of the General Assembly at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
She plans to highlight the progress Rhode Island has made in recent years and outline her long-term vision.
Raimondo says she’s optimistic about the future because of how the economy has rebounded from the recession and how the state changed its approach to job training.
She will submit her budget proposal on Thursday.
House Minority Leader Blake Filippi is scheduled to deliver the Republican response.
Raimondo’s speech can be heard on sister station AM 790 beginning at 7:00 P.M.
