Man gets 3 years for making 112 fraudulent ATM withdrawals

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A Florida man who pleaded guilty to making more than 100 fraudulent withdrawals using stolen identities at ATMs in Rhode Island and Massachusetts has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Federal prosecutors said Tuesday that 27-year-old Dean Emmanuel Colin, of Miami, was arrested outside a Seekonk, Massachusetts bank on May 23 after he was observed making repeated ATM withdrawals using multiple cards.

Prosecutors say Colin traveled to the Boston area on May 22 and over two days successfully made 112 fraudulent ATM withdrawals worth a total of almost $175,000.

Colin pleaded guilty in September to bank fraud conspiracy and aggravated identity theft.
