Coventry Police say they are operating out of a new headquarters building, but want residents to know that their phone number remains the same.

Police said that they would complete the move at 4:00 P.M. Monday from their longtime building at 1075 Main Street to the new quarters at 60 Wood Street. The phone number remains unchanged: 401-826-1100.

“Please continue to utilize 911 for all emergencies,” said Coventry Police Chief John MacDonald in a statement. “We ask for the public’s patience as we occupy and adjust to this new space.”

According to Colonel Macdonald, the new facility combines and houses the Coventry Senior Center, the Coventry Department of Human Services and the Coventry Police Department. This building was previously an Elementary School for many years.

Voters reportedly approved a $12 million bond issue in 2016 to start the process.
