Warwick Mayor Joseph Solomon said Thursday that despite budgetary shortfalls, sports and other extracurricular activities will not be cut in the city’s schools.
Solomon tells WPRO’s Tara Granahan that “rest assured, one way or another, after school sports will continue. Schools are not just paper, books, geometry and science.”
The Warwick school committee is asking the city council to approve about $7.7 million in additional funding, but the city council says that the money isn’t there.
