The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the Boston Police Department are looking for the public’s help in identifying potential witnesses connected to the alleged kidnapping of Jassy Correia.
The FBI released video and photos of four people they say were in in the vicinity of Tremont Street and Stuart Street in Boston in the early hours of February 24, the same night surveillance video showed Correia getting into a car with a man investigators later identified as Louis D. Coleman III. The FBI plans to run a social media campaign in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island for the next month.
“We’re asking the public to take a close look at these images to see if they can help us identify these people because we believe they may have information that could enhance our investigation,” said Joseph R. Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division in a statement. “We want to emphasize that these folks are not suspected of any wrongdoing. We just really want to talk to them to find out if they have seen or overheard something that could help us bring some closure to Jassy’s family.”
Coleman, whose Providence apartment was searched during the investigation, was charged with kidnapping, refusal to report a death with intent to conceal, and mutilation of a dead body.
Authorities previously said Correia’s body was found in a suitcase, wrapped in a sofa cushion cover that was inside a trash bag. They noted the victim, who was bruised and had a bloodied face, had been bound with duct tape and her body covered in what was believed to be baking soda.
