PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Rhode Island’s House Minority Leader is asking the state court to intervene in her efforts to account for the state’s spending of a landmark $230 million settlement with Google.

Republican state Rep. Patricia Morgan said Wednesday she wants Democratic Attorney General Peter Kilmartin’s office to waive up to $8,000 in additional payments to complete a public records request she filed in March. Morgan says she’s already paid $3,750.

Morgan also says the records she’s received so far suggest the office is improperly using the money for operating expenses.

Kilmartin’s office says it won’t give Morgan “special treatment” and is complying with all state public records requirements and regulations regarding the Google settlement.

The 2012 settlement came after an investigation exposed Google’s role in the online sale of non-FDA-approved prescription drugs.
