Rapper Macklemore is set to headline Recovery Fest, a music festival aimed at raising awareness around addiction and recovery.
Other musical acts including Fitz and the Tantrums, PVRIS, and James Montgomery are also scheduled to perform. Proceeds from the event will go to the Above the Noise Foundation, which which provides funding to organizations that work to address addiction crises in their communities.
“There are a multitude of grassroots nonprofits working directly with those affected,” said
Maureen Cavanagh, Executive Director, Above the Noise Foundation. “One of the main goals of Recovery Fest
2018 is to connect the non-profits providing substance use disorder resources with those in need of support.”
One of the festival’s goals is ensuring it is an event where everyone, including those who have struggled with addictions and recovery, can have fun. That means the event is drug and alcohol free.
In addition to music, Recovery Fest will feature guest speakers, non profits, food trucks, a job fair, and more.
Tickets are on sale at Above the Noise Foundation’s website. A “matching ticket” program with a limited number of sponsored tickets is also in place for those who cannot afford the full price of a festival ticket.
