JOHNSTON, R.I.— Two teenagers have died after a crash that ended in a fiery blaze at a Johnston gas station.
A front seat passenger in the Audi, identified as Dylan Laurenzo, age 18, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and died from his injuries Wednesday morning, the Rhode Island State Police confirmed. The rear seat passenger in the Audi, identified as Taylor Reilly, age 18, was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Buick operated by Andrea D’Agostino, age 87, was attempting to make a left turn onto Bishop Hill Road from Route 6 West.
An Audi, operated by Zachery Albanese, age 19, was traveling on Route 6 East and had just entered the intersection at Bishop Hill Road. The Buick and Audi crashed, consequently causing the Audi to veer right, leave the roadway and enter the parking lot of a Sunoco gas station where it then struck an unoccupied Honda SUV that was parked in front of a gas pump.
As a result of this collision, the Honda struck the gas pump and immediately became engulfed in flames. The Audi spun across the parking lot and came to rest on Route 6 East facing west.
Albanese is also in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital.
Mr. D ’Agostino was transported to Miriam Hospital and later released.
