PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Two Providence firefighters have been arrested on drug and gun charges.
Joshua Brown and Richard Jimenez were ordered held without bail at their arraignments Wednesday on charges including possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
The 24-year-old Brown and the 25-year-old Jimenez were arrested Tuesday. Brown was arrested at a fire station and Jimenez was arrested at his home.
Police also seized more than four pounds of marijuana and eight guns from the address.
Providence Public Safety Commissioner Steven Pare says both men have been suspended without pay. He says there is no evidence the men were selling drugs while on the job.
