CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) — Police in Cranston have arrested three teenage high school students after they were found with two handguns and a stun gun on school property.
The Cranston High School West students were charged Tuesday with several offenses including illegal possession of firearms and firing in a compact area.
Capt. Karen Guilbeault says the boys — ages 14, 15 and 16 — were caught after the school’s resource officer learned that a firearm was brought onto the property but not into the school itself.
The officer later confiscated a revolver and a semi-automatic handgun from the boys. One of the weapons was reportedly fired in a wooded area near the school on Monday.
The teens were remanded to the Training School for Youth and are expected to appear in Family Court Wednesday.
