A Massachusetts man was sentenced to prison for a wrong-way crash in Providence that left two people dead on Easter morning.
Joel Norman, 26 of Webster, Mass. changed his plea to guilty to charges related to the deaths of a Central Falls couple, Tiffany Sical, 21 and Brayan Rodriguez-Solis, 23. Police said his car was traveling the wrong way at Route 6 at Memorial Boulevard in downtown Providence.
Norman apologized to the victims’ families, who offered emotional impact statements, and wept openly as Judge Kristin Rodgers sentenced him to serve 12 years at the Adult Correctional institutions, followed by three years’ home confinement, 20 years’ overall probation and to pay $10,000 in fines. She ordered his driver’s license to be revoked for 10-years following his prison term.
