Two Republicans have announced their intentions to run for the Rhode Island House seat currently held by Speaker Nicholas Mattiello. Steven Frias and Shawna Lawton will face off in a primary election to determine who will run against Mattiello for his Cranston District 15 seat.
Both candidates, along with RI GOP chair Brandon Bell, appeared in separate interviews with WPRO’s Dan Yorke. Listen to the conversations below. Bell, a Frias supporter, is unhappy that Lawton is running in this race.
