Officials returned to the area around Branch Avenue and Woodward Road Thursday morning. They’ve been digging and searching since Tuesday but have so far declined to say exactly what they’re looking for.
Kristen Setera, a spokeswoman for the FBI’s Boston office confirmed Thursday its Evidence Response Team that involves forensic experts is involved in the investigation but declined to comment further. She’s previously stressed there’s no threat to public safety.
The digging is going on behind a mill building that was raided by federal investigators for an illegal pot growing operation. Agents recovered about 1,400 pot plants, cash and a gun during the August raid.
It’s not clear if the cases are related.
