PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Police say a Warwick woman who broke into the office of Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin wanted to speak with him about “several personal problems.”
Forty-five-year-old Cynthia Jones was arraigned Monday in Providence District Court on one count of breaking and entering and one count of interfering with a fire alarm. She’s being held on $25,000 surety bail.
The Providence Journal reports police said during Jones’ arraignment she wanted to speak with Kilmartin.
Police responded to the office around 2 a.m. Monday for a report of a tripped fire alarm box. Investigators allege Jones broke in through a window but was stopped in the lobby.
Jones was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation and is due back in court Feb. 8.
Jones hasn’t been assigned a public defender yet.
