Bouchard Restaurant and Inn of Newport has been named one of the “2015 Top 100 Restaurants in America” by OpenTable, “the world’s leading provider of online restaurant reservations.”

According to the site, “These awards reflect the combined opinions of more than 5 million restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 20,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.”

“Even as diners embrace a wide range of concepts from family-style meals to small plates, it’s clear that fine dining and multi-course tasting menus continue to dazzle,” says Caroline Potter, OpenTable Chief Dining Officer.

“This year’s winners are the restaurants that transcend fads, consistently put out delicious dishes, provide impeccable service, and pay attention to every detail to orchestrate one-of-a-kind experiences, time and again.”

Bouchard Inn & Restaurant, on Thames St in Newport, has been operating for over 20 years and offers upscale dining focused on French cuisine.

According to OpenTable, the list of the 100 Best Restaurants in America is generated from more than 5 million restaurant reviews collected from users of the site between November 1, 2014 and October 31, 2015. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant’s average rating in the “overall” category along with that restaurant’s rating relative to others in the same metropolitan area and the average number of restaurants reviewed by diners who reviewed that restaurant.
