Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin says he welcomes the pending release of untold thousands of pages of 38 Studios documents to the public.
“I’ve always thought at the end of the day there needed to be a light on the whole situation and sometimes it takes longer to light that light than the public clamors for, but in the end, I think all the answers will be laid out for people to see and evaluate,” said Kilmartin.
Last week, Superior Court Judge Michael Silverstein ordered the public release of all sealed documents in the case of the failed video game company owner by ex-Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling. Silverstein expects to have the documents released sometime next week.
The Attorney General said he is not privy to which documents will be released, as his department is not involved in the civil lawsuit.
Kilmartin said the criminal investigation into 38 Studios is nearly complete.
“We’re hopefully nearing the end from the investigation on the criminal aspect of it,” he said.
