Superior Court Judge Michael Silverstein says he will unseal all the documents pertaining to the 38 Studios and release them to the public; although not immediately.
Silverstein said Friday the documents will be made available in 10 days’ time.
The judge says the total page count of all the documents in is the thousands, and that it will take time compile and release them all.
The much-sought-after documents will be a treasure trove for longtime followers of the failed 38 Studios deal. Critics have been asking for years for the documents to be released to the public so all parties responsible for the deal can be held responsible.
Rhode Island taxpayers are currently on the hook to pay off $74 million through 2020. Governor Gina Raimondo set aside over $12 million in payments in her 2015/2016 budget.
