State police say a three-year old child has died in a fiery rollover crash on Interstate 95 in Warwick Monday evening.
Police say the car was traveling down I-95 south in the right-hand lane when it suddenly traveled across all lanes before crossing the center median and striking a tree, rolling over, and bursting into flames with the driver and three passengers inside.
A pair of good Samaritans stopped and were able to rescue, 34-year-old Robert Souza, 25-year-old Lindsey Clark, and 5-year-old Savannah Clunan from the vehicle. The last remaining passenger, Adonis Clark was unable to be rescued from the car before the flames grew too intense.
Both adults were taken to the hospital in critical condition; the 5-year-old was admitted to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say there is no evidence that alcohol was involved.
The accident remains under investigation.
