WARWICK, R.I. (AP) – A Warwick couple has been forced out of their home because of damage caused when a car crashed into their bedroom.
Bill Bjerke tells WLNE-TV that he and his wife were not home with the car hit the house at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
He says the accident severed a heating line and crews had to turn off the utilities to the house on Diamond Hill Road.
He says this is the ninth accident on their property in 30 years, but the first time a car has crashed into the home.
No one was injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
