Pawtucket Police are reporting an initial investigation into a 16-month-old boy being critically injured after he was hit by a car has been unofficially labeled as a tragic accident.
Police say a review of eye witness testimony and nearby surveillance camera footage support the family’s testimony that the child wandered behind the vehicle while it was being moved.
The accident occurred just before 2:30 on Main Street Tuesday afternoon.
The investigation is still ongoing.
There has been no update on the boy’s condition which was listed as critical.
