PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A 21-year-old Cranston man has pleaded guilty in the gang-related killing of 22-year-old man last fall.
Authorities say Tevin Briggs, an associate of the YNIC street gang, pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and related offenses in the killing of Terry Robinson.
Robinson was killed in October, minutes after attending the arraignment of a man in another gang-related killing. He was sitting in a parked car outside a housing complex when Briggs and another man opened fire on the vehicle, killing Robinson and wounding one other person.
The Providence Journal reports that Briggs apologized in court to the family, who cried in response.
Briggs could face life in prison.
