A federal grand jury has indicted an East Providence man for allegedly recruiting and prostituting two female minors earlier this year.
According to the court, on January 18 of this year Reginald Chaney, 19, met with the two victims, ages 15 and 16, drove them to his residence and photographed them for the purpose of soliciting sex on Backpage.com.
Federal and State attorneys allege that between January 18 and 30, Chaney arranged for commercial sexual activities for the victims at various motels in Rhode Island and in Massachusetts. Chaney is being held in state custody for violating his probation on a previous unrelated weapons charge.
An arraignment date has not been scheduled.
Chaney faces 10 years, to life in prison and up to $500,000 in fines.
