Coventry Police announced the arrest of Cumberland man on child pornography charges following an investigation into an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
David Allard, 40, was arrested after police received phone calls reporting an older man with a younger female parked in a car near foster field. Callers said this was the sixth time in the past month the vehicle had been seen at that location with the man and girl inside.
Police responded, and after questioning determined the girl to be 15 years of age; both Allard and the girl lied about her age initially. A further investigation revealed Allard was engaged in an inappropriate relationship with the female and detectives were able to obtain a search warrant of the man’s phone.
After speaking with the victim’s parents, police learned Allard had been investigated by Police in Smithfield RI and Plainville Massachusetts for similar conduct with the victim.
The victim was taken to Hasbro children’s hospital for evaluation.
Allard is being held at the ACI for violating his probation.
