Security camera images of the alleged vandal who defaced the Islamic School of Rhode Island have been released online.
The images were published on the website Rhode Island Most Wanted sometime on Wednesday, and show a figure wearing a hooded jacket and baseball hat, and walking up to a wall of the school and spray painting graffiti on it. The suspect successfully blocked part of his face from the camera’s view.
The West Warwick school was targeted February 14, presumably after students and faculty held a vigil for the three Muslims killed in North Carolina. The graffiti included profanity and referred to Muslims as pigs and made derogatory comparisons to the Prophet Muhammad. School officials say a suspicious email had been sent to the faculty a week before.
West Warwick Police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at: 401-827-9012.
