Like a kid on Christmas, Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza ripped into a box containing the winning from a Super Bowl bet he made with Seattle’s Mayor Ed Murray.
Both Mayor’s agreed that if the Patriots won, Mayor Murray would send City Hall a gift basket of Northwest alder-smoked salmon from Pure Food Fish Market, whole bean coffees from the original Starbucks at Pike Place Market and a giant bag of Skittles.
“We’re proud to be a part of New England, we’re proud to be strong supporters of the Patriots,” said Elorza.
Elorza said the item he was looking forward to the most was the giant bag of Skittles.
“I’m actually very eager to receive these, I’m going to pour these in a bowl and go throughout City Hall sharing the spoils of victory.”
