BARRINGTON, R.I. (AP) – An early morning fire in Barrington has destroyed a home.
No one was injured in the blaze, which was reported around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Fire officials say the blaze started in the basement, and the first floor of the home partially collapsed.
Fire crews then had to fight the fire from outside.
The man inside as well as his dog were able to get out safely after being alerted by smoke detectors.
