PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Rhode Island gas prices have jumped 11 cents per gallon in the past week, driven by higher crude oil prices.
AAA Northeast reports Monday that self-serve, regular is up to an average of $2.19 per gallon after the first weekly increase in gas prices locally since late last June.
Rhode Island prices are still 11 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and $1.27 lower than on the same date a year ago.
The current price is a penny more than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.18.
AAA says self-serve, regular is selling for as low as $2.09 and as high as $2.35 per gallon.
