Governor Gina Raimondo believes the Department of Elderly Affairs is the “right fit” for Charlie Fogarty after she nominated the former Lieutenant Governor to head up the agency.
Recently, Fogarty led the Department of Labor and Training.
“I’ve given him the charge, and he’s accepted it, to clean up the department and just become a much more aggressive advocate on behalf of the elderly,” said Raimondo.
Raimondo said the department hinges on strong community relationships, which she says Fogarty possesses.
Scott Jensen, former Deputy Secretary to Maryland’s DLT, has been tapped to replace Fogarty pending the approval of the state Senate.
