The Rhode Island National Guard says they are ready for Gina Raimondo’s inaugural festivities after nearly two-months of preparation.
Public Affairs Officer Peter Parente told WPRO News that the Guard has been meeting with Raimondo’s transition team every day since her election to make sure the ceremony goes off without a hitch.
“It’s a pretty awesome ceremony when you think about all that’s went into it for planning; I’m sure there’s some things you wish would get tightened up a little bit more but everybody is pretty pleased at this point on how it’s all come together,” said Parente.
“There’s a lot that goes into it, there’s a lot of moving pieces, there’s weather considerations…”
Parente said a contingency plan has been prepared to move the ceremony to the Vets Memorial Auditorium if the weather becomes poor.
