WARWICK, R.I. (AP) – Police say a 64-year-old Warwick man has been seriously injured after being struck by a car.
Police said John Lacki of Warwick was walking across West Shore Road in a painted crosswalk when he was hit by a 2006 Saturn at about 4 p.m. Wednesday. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
Police said the driver, an 18-year-old Joseph Woods, also of Warwick, is not likely to face any criminal charges. They said alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the collision.
