There will be a stronger police presence at Stone Hill Elementary School in Cranston after the school received a threatening letter.
Chief Operating Officer of Cranston Public Schools Raymond Votto said “we do not believe it to be credible; however we will follow our usual safety procedures to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff.”
The threat has been given to Cranston Police and the school is working with both Cranston and the Rhode Island State Police.
“Anytime we get a threat we immediately call Cranston Police, and they really from that point on take over the investigation in the matter,” said Votto.
Parents of the children were notified Wednesday by an automated phone call.
The threat comes a month after the Johnston School District received threatening letters that included Cranston.
A call has been placed with the Cranston Police.
