Republican Allan Fung said Thursday he never met with anyone from 38 Studios to entice Curt Schilling’s video game company to come to Cranston.

Word of Fung’s early support for the failed video game company comes from an NBC 10 report which shows an email allegedly sent by a communications company working for Fung’s office to a board member offering the company a chance to look at Cranston.

“This is directly opposite to what he told Rhode Islanders two nights ago on the debate stage,” Raimondo Campaign Manager Eric Hyers told WPRO News, “It’s outrageous and frankly it’s the worst kind of political hypocrisy. These are exactly the kind of insider political games that we expect from a corporate lobbyist and career politician.”

Fung denied the accusations, saying he doesn’t recognize the name of the representative, or the communication company who sent the email.

“[I] never met with Curt Schilling, never met with anyone from 38 Studios to talk about moving to Cranston; we all know they never looked at Cranston so I’m not even sure where that’s coming from,” said Fung.
