Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is set to visit Rhode Island Thursday to raise money and campaign with Republican Allan Fung.
The two politicians will appear together at a private event at the Biltmore Hotel where tickets can range as high as $1,000 for both a luncheon and VIP reception.
At last count, Fung leads Raimondo in terms of cash on hand according to campaign finance reports. However, outside money will also be a factor in the race, and groups such as LeadHERship and billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s political action committee have already pledged support to Raimondo.
Romney’s last visit to the Ocean State was during his 2012 presidential campaign when he stopped at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Warwick.
