WARWICK, R.I. (AP) – A Cranston man accused of stabbing his girlfriend’s 6-year-old son in the feet with a fork has been held ordered held on bail.
Twenty-six-year-old Brandon Lyon was arraigned Monday in Kent County District Court and ordered held on $20,000 bail with surety. He did not enter a plea to the charge of second-degree child abuse.
WJAR-TV reports that a Cranston Police Department prosecutor said in court that Lyon repeatedly stabbed the boy on the bottom of his feet with a metal fork as a way of punishing him.
A police report says the boy told authorities Lyon did it because he lied about the reason he had gone upstairs. He told police that when he cried, Lyon hit him in the head and told him to shut up.
