aijohn784/iStockphoto/Thinkstock(CHICAGO) — A Chicago police captain was shot Tuesday night as police and U.S. Marshals attempted to catch a suspect wanted in connection with a triple shooting in Indianapolis, police sources told ABC station WLS-TV in Chicago.
The captain was being treated for head and chest wounds at Stroger Hospital after the shooting in Englewood, WLS-TV reported.
Chicago Police assisting the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force were attempting to apprehend Daniel P. Brown, 42, who is wanted in connection with a triple shooting in Indianapolis this past Saturday, the station reported, citing multiple police sources.
The incident started around 6 p.m. when shots were fired from the first floor of a building as police and U.S. Marshals approached.
A Chicago Police Department spokesman declined to comment on the ongoing situation to ABC News.
