PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – The head of the Rhode Island Board of Elections says only minor problems occurred during Tuesday’s party primaries.
The Providence Journal reports that Robert Kando, executive director of the state agency, called it one of Rhode Island’s best elections.
He says there were no reports of people waiting in long lines.
That is in contrast to the 2012 election when complaints by voters forced the General Assembly to recommend changes to voting procedures.
A legislative committee recommended standards for setting up polling, a plan for recruiting and training poll workers and other changes.
