Providence mayoral candidate Michael Solomon released an internal poll Tuesday, showing he would be victorious in an election over Independent Buddy Cianci, whereas rival Jorge Elorza would fall behind.
Solomon released the results of the new poll in Prospect Park where four days earlier, Elorza gained the support of former candidate Brett Smiley.
According to the polling, Solomon would edge out Buddy Cianci 36% to 35%. The poll also showed Cianci would pull ahead in a race with Elorza, winning 38% to 31%.
Smiley had announced his support for Elorza citing the similarity between Cianci’s and Solomon’s candidacies saying both men would be a step backwards for Providence.
