Ken Block accused his opponent Allan Fung of only being interested in partisan debate and implied he was an obstacle to change in Rhode Island during a debate hosted by the WPRO Newsroom Wednesday night.
Sparks flew when Block claimed partisanship was the main obstacle to change in the state, and accused his opponent of being a part of that problem.
“Allan’s not interested in change he’s interested in making you afraid, and what I’m interested in doing is bringing you the fix,” said Block.
Both candidates largely stuck to their guns in the debate and neither backed away from attacking each other’s policies and records coming into the final weeks of the primary.
Fung frequently referenced his record as a successful mayor in Cranston and how his experience as an executive makes him an obvious choice over Block who has never held public office.
“We don’t have time to have someone who has had no public experience like my opponent jumping into that governor’s seat, it’s too critical of a time for our state of Rhode Island,” said Fung.
