The Rhode Island State Police have made their first arrest related to the new table games at Twin River Casino in Lincoln.
Police arrested Steven Sabitoni, 46, of Lincoln on July 10 at 2:45 a.m for one count of larceny under $1,500.
The investigation into Sabitoni began when a member of Twin River Security alerted a detective that Sabitoni took chips from another patron while at a blackjack table.
The detective reviewed surveillance footage and confirmed that Sabitoni took $250 worth of chips from the player sitting next to him. The detective arrested Sabitoni for the alleged larceny and Twin River Casino personnel served Sabitoni with a permanent ejection notification.
Sabitoni was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court and released on $1,000 personal recognizance.
"The integrity of the gaming conducted at Twin River is a major priority of the Rhode Island State Police,” said Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell. “Those who decide to interfere with the rules and laws governing the Casino will be dealt with in the appropriate manner."
