Rhode Island lawmakers are looking into an alternative plan to stop the tolls on the Sakonnet River Bridge.
The Senate Finance Committee reviewed a proposal that would increase vehicle biannual inspection fees from $39 to $65.
Sen. Louis Dipalma says this would ensure there’s enough money to maintain the bridges without imposing the burdensome toll.
