Authorities have confirmed that the pilot in Wednesday morning’s small plane crash on Cuttyhunk Island has died. Police identified the pilot as Allen P. Spaulding, a 70-year-old Wilmington, Delaware, resident. He was the sole occupant of the plane.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing by the State Police, the United States Coast Guard, the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission. State Police are releasing no further information at this time.
The plane is described as a 1965 fixed-wing Maule Bee Dee M-4-210.
