CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) – The search for a Cranston man accused of shooting his estranged wife and a male friend in the parking lot of a pizza parlor has ended with an arrest in Warwick.
Police say 40-year-old Thomas Alejo was taken into custody Thursday evening at the home of a relative.
They say Alejo shot and wounded both victims a day earlier in the lot outside the Pizza Fair restaurant in Galen Plaza on Park Avenue.
Police say Alejo fled in a black pickup truck, which was later found abandoned.
Both victims were taken to Rhode Island Hospital and are expected to recover.
Alejo faces arraignment Friday on several criminal charges.
