Following the House Committee on Judiciary's passage of the marriage equality bills Tuesday, Governor Lincoln Chafee announced that he would hold a signing ceremony immediately following the full House vote Thursday evening.
The same-sex marriage legislation already passed overwhelmingly in the House earlier this year, and is back again for another vote after the Senate amended the bill to expand protection for religious institutions.
The signing ceremony is planned for Thursday at 5:45 p.m. on the South Steps of the State House.
Members of the Rhode Island Congressional Delegation, as well as members of the Rhode Island House and Senate are exected to attend as well.
