Last week WPRO reported that Taylor Swift was looking at a sprawling 11,000 square foot mansion in the Watch Hill section of Westerly, Rhode Island.

Now, according to TMZ, Swift has bought the mansion in cash for $17.75 million. The Town of Westerly tells WPRO that Harbor Land Revocable Trust is now the new owner of the property as of April 26.
Swift, 23, reportedly whittled the price down from its original listing of $24 million. The former owners, James and Marlene Benson, paid $3,500,000 for the home in 1996.
According to the Town of Westerly’s Tax Assessor database, the home has an assessed value of $12,415,400.
Former head of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, Steve Antoni told Gene Valicenti on the WPRO Morning News that the taxes on the home are likely $200,000 a year.
According to Antoni, the real estate agent that sold the home was form Connecticut. When WPRO made a phone call last week to the home and a woman who answered to Marlene, she said she had “no comment” about Swift.
