WPRO Newsroom
WPRO's Dan Yorke reported Friday that former state treasurer Frank Caprio would again be seeking the office of General Treasurer in 2014.
Neither Caprio's father, the Honorable Judge Antonio Caprio, nor outgoing chairman of the Rhode Island Democratic Party, Edwin Pacheco, could confirm the news.
But on April 12, Frank Caprio filed with the Rhode Island Campaign Finance office to fun for either State Senator, General Treasurer or Governor.
According to earlier reports from WPRI.com, Caprio is helping current General Treasurer Gina Raimondo fundraise for her anticipated gubernatorial run. WPRI.com also reported that Caprio dropped his Democratic affiliation. There is no party affiliation listed on his campaign finance filing.
Caprio was not immediately available for comment.
