Elections may seem a long way off, but that doesn’t mean area politicians are neglecting their campaign finance accounts.
According to new filings, Senator Jack Reed has amassed the most money in the first months of 2013, bringing in $245,475 from January 1 to the end of March. All told, Reed has more than $2 million in cash on hand.
Meanwhile, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse added $9,300 in the first quarter, bringing his war chest to $778,000.
Congressman Jim Langevin’s net contributions were $130,501 for the first quarter of 2013, while Congressman David Cicilline took in $191,949.
Langevin’s cash on hand was $177,772, while Cicilline’s was $124,567.
