In a brief address, President Barack Obama said late Tuesday morning that officials still do not know if the bombings at the Boston Marathon Monday were done by a group or an individual, and if it was an act of domestic or foreign terrorism – this was the first time the President publicly referred to the bombings as an "act of terror."
The motive behind the bombings is also unknown at this time.
The President called the twin explosions that have killed three and injured 176 people a “heinous and cowardly act.”
“We will find whoever harmed out citizens and we will bring them to justice,” he said.
The President said Americans respond to acts or terror and evil “selflessly, compassionately, unafraid.”
He said there will be more briefings from officials throughout the day.
