ANIMAL PRINTS: If you have a soft spot in your heart for animals, then this is the event for you. Tonight, Friday, April 12 is “Animal Prints,” a silent auction and gallery of portraits featuring Rhode Island’s biggest names alongside shelter animals. Who are the big names you ask? Governor Lincoln Chafee, American Idol Season 11 finalist Erika Van Pelt, Arlene Violet and WPRO’s own Tara Granahan to name a few. You can get all the details here. FOOD: Newport Restaurant Week continues through Sunday. Dozens of restaurants in and around Newport have signed up to offer prix fixe menus at fantastic prices. Restaurant weeks are great ways to try delicious dishes at new places and old favorites, all while keeping your wallet as full as your belly. RV & CAMPING SHOW: The 20th Annual RV and Camping Show rolls into the Rhode Island Convention Center this weekend. The show runs Friday from 1 to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, but you can print a coupon here.
THEATER: “Social Creatures” continues its run at Trinity Rep. The “bloody funny” play centers on a group of people attempting to survive the zombie apocalypse of lore. “The Real Thing” at the Gamm Theatre in Pawtucket also continues this weekend. The Tom Stoppard gem examines love in its various forms.
FOR THE LADIES: The 10th Annual Southern New England Women’s Expo is this Sunday at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln.
