5. Blackstone Boulevard
It’s a nice 3 mile run and perfect if you need some motivation. You will always find a lot of other runners (both early morning and throughout the day) on this route. It keeps you going (and going and going)!
4. East Side – Brown University
Start at the Brown University Stadium and run the Team In Training route (marked). This is a great way to start your training, especially if you plan to run a marathon at some point.
3. Roger Williams Park
This is a challenging route with varied terrain. If you want hills and you want to feel your heart pumping this is the spot!
2. East Bay Bike Path
It runs from East Providence to Bristol along Narragansett Bay and great if you want to avoid regular traffic, plus in the Spring/Summer the views are gorgeous.
1. Ocean Drive in Newport
Probably one of America’s most scenic driving routes, so obviously it’s a great scenic running route too. A 10 mile stretch of road thart takes you along Newport’s coastline with views of Narragansett Bay and their historical mansions. This route is great to clear your mind and see incredible landscapes. Definitely a place that makes us recognize how wonderful our state truly is.
