If Ronald McDonald and the Burger King went head-to-head in a race for President of the United States, Ronald McDonald would be the next man to sit in the Oval Office according to a new report from Public Policy Polling.

A poll conducted by PPP earlier this month focused on food trends, and asked respondents a series of questions regarding fast food, soda drinks and meals.
But just because President McDonald would beat out Burger King doesn’t mean that McDonald’s is the most popular fast food chain in country. According to the poll, Burger King takes the cake as favorite fast food chain, followed by Wendy’s and then McDonald’s.
Coca-Cola came in as the country’s favorite soda, followed by Dr. Pepper and then Pepsi. The poll also found that most Americans don’t consider the Olive Garden to be a “quality source of authentic ethnic food.”

Though the PPP presented the poll as a simple food survey, they also took down data about respondents’ political affiliation and home region.
People from the Northeast favor bagels over donuts, and pancakes over French toast and waffles. Northeasterners also like Pepsi more than Coke and are split over whether or not Olive Garden is authentic Italian cuisine.
Democrats are found to prefer KFC while Republicans favor Chik-fil-A; Independents are equally split among both. The poll also found that Democrats and Independents favor regular soda while Republicans like diet.
The majority of all three parties agree that they’re “not sure” who they would vote for in a presidential race between Ronald McDonald and Burger King.
